    I posted earlier about some Altec equipment that was being auctioned off.I was able to pick up 4 Altec 1231 monitor wedges at a reasonable price. I am trying to identify the woofers used in them but there are no identifying marks on them--they are 12 inch cones with heavy grey magnets and metal dust caps.On the back of the cones is some white stenciled numbers but they were not stamped clearly and so are hard to make out.So how would a guy know exactly what driver he has with no markings?

    I would think they would be a 417 series speaker.
